About treadmill pace

A common coaching rule of thumb adds roughly 15–20 seconds per mile (about 12 seconds per km) of effort for each 1% of incline versus flat outdoor running. This page applies that estimate so you can compare treadmill sessions with race goals from the race pace calculator.

Also see the run walk pace calculator for interval training on a belt.
